Online shop
With payments, shipping, vouchers and stock control. And something that always gets forgotten: invoices and returns.
When it makes sense: if you sell more than twenty lines or need to take payment up front.
Custom projects
An online shop connected to your management software. A dashboard so your team can stop using three spreadsheets. An old website that has to be rebuilt without losing what already ranks. That has no list price, and promising you one over the phone would be lying to you.
Everything that a five-page website does not solve.
With payments, shipping, vouchers and stock control. And something that always gets forgotten: invoices and returns.
When it makes sense: if you sell more than twenty lines or need to take payment up front.
A tool for your team: job sheets, bookings, stock, order tracking. What today is spreadsheets passed around over WhatsApp.
When it makes sense: if two or more people are working on the same Excel file.
Getting the website talking to what you already use: your till, your management software, your payment gateway or your diary. No typing the same data in twice.
When it makes sense: if someone copies information from one system to another by hand.
A website that has gone stale, or that is on WordPress, Wix or Squarespace and you want out of there. Keeping the addresses that already rank.
When it makes sense: if your website is more than five years old or is slow to load.
Accommodation, courts, rooms, classrooms or equipment hire. With real availability, deposit and automatic notification.
When it makes sense: if you pay commission to a portal on bookings that could be direct.
An app for your team's phones or your customers': job sheets, stock control, clocking in, orders. It installs on the phone and works even with no signal.
When it makes sense: if your people fill in paperwork out on the road and then someone types it into the computer by hand.
From a simple game for your website —a discount wheel, a branded puzzle— to something with more to it. They run in the browser, with nobody having to install anything.
When it makes sense: if you want people to come back to your website because they want to, not only when they need something.
Included in everything I build: who comes in, where from, what they click and the path of each visit. With user accounts, so whoever you choose can see it.
Hundreds or thousands of products with a search box, filters and spec sheets. Imported from your Excel list, not typed in by hand.
When it makes sense: if your catalogue today is a PDF nobody opens.
In phases, and each one closes with something you can see and use. At the end of any of them you can say «that is enough» and you keep what is done, working and in your hands. Nobody gets trapped halfway through a project.
| Phase | What happens | What you get | Payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics | We sit down and look at how you work today and what can be simplified. This is usually where half of what looked essential falls away. One or two weeks | A document with the scope, the fixed price for the following phases and the timescales. | Fixed cost |
| Design | Real screens you can click through, with your copy and your data. Before anything is programmed. One or two weeks | A prototype you can show your team and pick apart with questions. | 30 % |
| Construction | It is built in parts and you see each one as soon as it is ready. I do not disappear for a month.Depends on the project | The application running on a test address, with your real data. | 40 % |
| Going live | It goes live, the real data is migrated and I train whoever is going to use it.One week | Everything up and running, with a short manual and a recording of the training. | 30 % |
| After | A month of adjustments included, because the problems show up once you are using it.And then, if you want, monthly maintenance | Corrections at no cost during the first month. | Included |
The percentages are of the fixed price that comes out of the analysis phase. The code and the data are yours from day one: if one day you want to take them to another developer, I hand them over without argument.
A custom project costs considerably more than a normal website and does not always pay off. Here are the two columns, without the dressing up.
If you can put a number on the problem, the budget decides itself.
In those cases I send you to the business website, to the clinics one or straight to software that already exists. It costs less and works sooner.
If what you use has a way of connecting, it gets connected. If it has not, I check before promising anything — and I tell you no if it cannot be done.
Let us talk
You do not need to arrive with the solution worked out. With the problem and an idea of what it costs you today we can already talk. The first conversation costs nothing and sometimes it ends in «you do not need this».
